A collection of contents from the .PT domain between 1996 and 2000, provided by the Internet Archive, has been successfully integrated in the Portuguese Web Archive.

Scientific study characterizes search behaviour in a Web archive

This research presents a search behaviour characterization of Web archive users. Detailed statistics about the users’ sessions, queries, terms and clicks were analised from search logs.

The paper Characterizing Search Behavior in Web Archives, by Miguel Costa and Mário J. Silva, was presented at Temporal Web Analytics Workshop 2011, in Hyderabad, India.

Following the survey performed to draw a picture of web archiving worldwide, we created a Wikipedia page named “List of Web Archiving Initiatives”.

We hope that the published information can be collaboratively kept up-to-date by the community and translated to different languages.

A collection of journalistic pieces written by Dinis Manuel Alves published on the Web between 1997 and 2003 was supplied by the author to the Portuguese Web Archive.

We are pleased to announce that this information has been successfully integrated and can now be searched using our experimental service.

Dinis Manuel Alves is a journalist and researcher in the field of media and communication. He graduated in Law and in Journalism and has a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences – Media Speech from the University of Coimbra. He started in journalism in 1989 at TSF radio station and worked, among others, for Expresso newspaper, TVI TV station, and Grande Reportagem magazine.
